When Paul carried the message of Jesus to new groups of people that had never heard that message before he had a clear goal in mind. As he packed up his things and tearfully said his goodbyes to a group he had been living among in the book of Acts he made a very important statement about that goal and his strategy. The statement being “I have not shrunk back from declaring to you the whole council of God.” In other words, “I have not kept back from telling you all that God wants you to know.”

If the conditions remained peaceful in the places where Paul was teaching and he was physically able to stay in a place, it was Paul’s goal to teach the people there the whole message. Then finally, when he had come to the end of the Creators words, when he had taught through everything that God had given him to teach and the people were ready to stand on their own he would move on to a new place.

In the same way, this is the strategy of Jennie and I in the Dao tribe in this new year 2015. We are continuing on translating new portions of “the Creator’s leaf book” into the Dao language one section at a time until they have the entirety of God’s word available to them in their own language for the very first time in the history of their people group. We have a goal in mind, which is to teach the Dao people “Everything that God wants them to know” and in order to do that we must first translate the entirety of the Bible into the Dao language.

Last year God gave us the strength and enabling to reach our goal of finishing the first full draft of the New Testament in the Dao language and to in adition to that finish teaching the Dao body of believers through all thirteen of the Pauline Epistles expositorily, one verse at a time. However, even though we have now taught through the majority of the New Testament, finished this first base draft of the New Testament in the Dao language and in addition to that already translated around 25 percent of the Old Testament, It will likely take a while yet to complete this project of translating the entirety of the Bible and the remainder of the Old Testament into the Dao language. So in 2015 we are first of all continuing to focus in translating the remainder of the Old Testament for the Dao people group! Second we are focusing on developing teaching curriculumn for teaching through the only 3 remaining books of the New Testament that we have not yet taught through in the Dao tribe.

Please pray for us as we continue to train and work alongside the Dao men and women that the Lord is raising up as teachers and leaders in their people group. Please pray for our family and our three children as well, that they will stay healthy so that we can continue on teaching and translating. Pray for our coworkers on the field as well as we seek to finish this awesome task of both translating and teaching “The whole council of God” here in the Dao tribe.

And if your not playing a part in the amazing things that God is doing in the last remaining unreached corners of the world, we want you to know that your missing out on being a part of something incredible! Step forward and a play a part! You have the words of Jesus written down with pen and ink just as we do. His last words and command to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to everyone” do not apply any less to you than they do to our family, the Dao believers, or any other believer in this world for that matter. In this new year of 2015 find a way to get involved and take Jesus at His word that it will be well worth it “Both in this life and in the life to come!”
