1. The significance of the Lord’s Supper:
- ) The command to observe the Lord’s Supper comes from Jesus Himself (1 Corinthians 11:23-25).
- ) The bread represents Jesus’ body, which was broken when He died for us on the cross (1 Corinthians 11:23-24).
- ) The cup represents Jesus’ blood, which was shed for the forgiveness of our sins (1 Corinthians 11:25).
2. The seriousness of the Lord’s Supper:
Judgment from the Lord results from inappropriate participation in the Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians 11:29-30).

Examine yourself in relation to Jesus’ death (1 Corinthians 11:28, 31).
